2010 MOBBF Meeting Schedule

We are in the process of completing the 2010 meeting schedule. The following schedule will be updated as the remaining meeting locations are finalized. Please note that the date of the April meeting has been changed from the 5th to the 12th.

January – No meeting due to poor weather making traveling hazardous.

February 15-17 – National BBFI Meeting and Tribune Offering at Bible Baptist Church (Savannah, GA), Herb Hubbard, Pastor.

March 8-9 – Regional Meeting of the BBFs of Missouri and surrounding states at Baptist Bible College (Springfield, MO).

April 12 – Heritage Baptist Temple (Lebanon, MO), Daniel Garcia, Pastor. (Note: this is a revised date from the first published schedules).

May 10-13 – National BBFI Meeting and BBC Offering at Baptist Bible College (Springfield, MO).

June 14 –

July 15 – No regular meeting, but there will be a special at Camp Sagmount for its 50th anniversary.

August 2 –

September 27-29 – National BBFI Meeting and Projects Offering at Sauk Trail Baptist Temple (Richton Park, IL), Bruce Humbert, Pastor.

October 4 – Hillside Baptist Church (Springfield, MO), Cecil Tolbert, Pastor.

November 8 –

December 6 – Christmas banquet.

September MOBBF Meeting

The September meeting of the Missouri BBF was held on September 14 at Marshall Baptist Temple in Marshall, MO. On the drive up, we obtained photographic evidence that Pastor Mark Rounsaville (Baptist Temple in Springfield) can indeed multi-task. And this wasn't even his church's van!

Pastor Claude Fields and the church were great hosts, for what Pastor Fields announced was officially the "Bob meeting." Encouraging messages were brought by Pastors Bob Sharp (Crane), Bob Stephenson (Springfield), and Bob Baker (Buffalo).

Music was provided by Pastor Eric Campbell (Walnut Grove) and some of his family and church members. A good time of fellowship was had by those attending.

At the business meeting, Pastor Charlie Bell of West Division Street Baptist Church in Springfield was elected as the new MOBBF State Chairman. This left the position of Vice-Chairman open, and Pastor Eddie Lyons of High Street Baptist Church in Springfield was nominated and elected to that position. The terms of all officers run until the end of 2011.

Being Baptists, it was necessary to conclude the afternoon by sitting down for a good meal, ably prepared by members of Marshall Baptist Temple. We thank Marshall Baptist Temple for being such great hosts.

MOBBF Meeting is Next Week

The next meeting of the Missouri BBF will occur on September 14, from 1:00-5:00pm at:

Speakers include Pastors Sharp (Crane), Stephenson (Springfield), and Baker (Buffalo). Elaine Sharp will be the ladies speaker at 4:00pm.

The vote for the new MOBBF State Chairman will take place during the business meeting. Per section 4.2 of the MOBBF Bylaws, the new Chairman "will be elected by a majority vote of those affiliate MOBBF churches in attendance and voting. Each affiliate MOBBF church in attendance shall be entitled to one vote, [and...] the election shall be by open vote." YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO VOTE. The person elected as State Chairman will serve until December 31, 2011, when the terms of all officers will expire.

The afternoon will conclude with dinner at about 5:00pm.
